This Mauna Kea Wedding at the stunning South Point Lawn location was a luxury Hawaii event design filled with gorgeous details and personal touches.
We absolutely loved the opportunity to use a less common wedding color palette here and went with a bold matte deep blue linen paired with a dusty lavender napkin. You can see another one of our events featuring lavender: Holualoa Inn Wedding.
One of my personal favorite touches were the exquisite favors from Big Island Candies. We wrapped each one with a silk ribbon hand dyed to match this palette. They were then topped with each guests’ name handwritten by Miss B Calligraphy.
The wedding ceremony was located at the gorgeous Mauna Kea Third Tee Wedding location, a truly spectacular and iconic ocean front spot.
Because this is a short stroll from the main resort and reception area, we decided to have a small lounge vignette set on the lower tier. This provided guests who arrived early the opportunity to sip passed champagne while waiting and enjoy the stunning ocean views. Additionally, it created a unique opportunity for the bride and groom to have a quiet moment together and take photos in a different setting.
Dancing and live music were high priorities for this client so we hired Island Kings Band for the reception.
However, we really wanted to soften the heaviness of the black sound equipment. We opted for inverted stemmed florals and tiered twinkle lighting to create a unique backdrop that became even more beautiful as the sun set.
As always, we collaborate closely with our clients on every element of their wedding design.
This is intentionally to make sure they get exactly what they want – we help steer things in the right direction for cohesion and offer innovative concepts when desired but the style is theirs.
