Papa Kona is a great place for a casual Wedding on the Big Island

This cute couple wanted a casual, low-key but beautifully tropical event for their Kona Wedding. They also wanted the convenience of being able to keep the party going well past 10pm (the usual music cut off for outdoor Hawaii Wedding venues). Papa Kona provides an oceanfront setting right in the heart of Kona on the Big Island for a semi-private wedding.

For the design, the bride and groom wanted to use a mix of bright vibrant tropical flowers and greenery. Hawaii is the perfect place to incorporate fruits, such as coconut and papaya, for a unique and fun touch to wedding decor. Being mindful of their wedding budget, instead of a full arch structure, we opted for two free standing arrangments that could be repurposed to the wedding reception on Papa Kona’s palm-tree lined lanai.

As an extra special touch, we chose actual terracotta pieces and had a Hawaii Calligrapher customize each one with guests names to serve as unique place cards and added decor to the place settings.
