We love designing beautiful weddings in Hawaii and have been doing so for over 13 years. We have worked at all the top resorts on the island and are often the planner of choice for clients wanting a lot of detail for their weddings. That makes our events more challenging to plan and means they involve more vendors, more details, more customizations, and demand more time. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes with out events including hundreds of emails, hours of phone calls and a lot of time spent working with the hotel coordinators.
Recently, we have found it very challenging to work with the Coordinator at the Mauna Lani -there is only one for all their weddings and the demands of that must be so overwhelming. Our clients were sometimes given the wrong or competing information at different times and found it difficult to get clear answers from the resort on actual pricing.
For these reasons, we do not recommend this resort but would be happy to help you select the right resort venue for you. The Mauna Beach Hotel, Four Seasons Hualalai, and Kona Village Rosewood are all more private, offer outstanding service, and have less restrictions and more clarity in their pricing. We also prefer the Fairmont Orchid over the Auberge due to its more private locations and competitive pricing -they don’t require the hefty room block minimums the Auberge does. Our clients have been much happier with these venues and thus, we prefer to focus our talents on creating beautiful Big Island weddings elsewhere.
