We have planned many Mauna Lani Auberge Weddings and this Cheerful Modern Wedding Design is a favorite!
Of all the Mauna Lani Auberge Weddings we have planned, this one loaded with gorgeous bright blooms, is a favorite. We had so much fun designing this Big Island wedding in collaboration with the bride’s sister – who is also a professional designer. We wanted to find a balance between minimalist and bold. I believe that was achieved!
The bright wedding florals by Anuenue Flowers on the luxuriously textured light taupe table linens made the perfect pair. Meanwhile the traditional Japanese candies, special to the couple, added a pop of color on the place settings.
The black trim on the napkins from BBJ La Tavola Linens along with the gold and black dipped flatware from Hawaii Island Events added just the right amount of modern and edge while still keeping things classic.
The tropical mood was set with smooth music from Bula and Photographer James Rubio delivered as always on these stunning images capturing it all! After all these years, planning and coordinating weddings on the Big Island still feels like a dream!
Despite the beautiful Mauna Lani Auberge weddings we have designed, it is not our personal favorite of the many stunning venue options on the Big Island.
We remember doing weddings at the Mauna Lani when we first started 13 years ago. However, we could see it starting to age as the years went by and were glad to see the Auberge take over. However, some of our clients have been ” a little frustrated” with the service they receive there. They complained in email specifically about resort fees, service, and changing costs. We did some further research and discovered you can see evidence of this in some of the resort’s google reviews citing a “lack of service for the price point”.
Our clients have also told us a “lack of privacy” is their number one concern with Mauna Lani Auberge Weddings. It is a fact many of their wedding sites are close to guest rooms or near the pool. Finally, they didn’t like the sometimes earlier noise restrictions. For some areas on site, it is 9pm or so. This is due to the many guest rooms that front the wedding locations. And, the resort told us directly they get frequent complaints from other guests about wedding noise.
We personally much prefer the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Rosewood Kona Village, and Four Seasons Hualalai for Big Island Resort Venues -all fairly similarly priced.
Surprisingly, we discovered the more casual Mauna Lani rivals the pricing of the Rosewood Kona Village, just voted the Best in the World!
We simply prefer to plan our gorgeous events elsewhere! Given the abundance of locations, you shouldn’t have to settle for anything less than perfect! And, we would be happy to help you compare Big Island Wedding Venues so you can make the best decision for you!
Let us show you all the incredible options we have on Hawaii Island for your dream wedding! aloha@thechapteroflove.com
