In a secluded and little known are of the Kona and Kohala Coast lies a secret and iconic Big Island resort: The Kona Village. Always laid back yet luxurious, the Kona Village is now the ultimate location for a luxury wedding on the Big Island.

Several years ago we remember when the Kona Village was devastated by a tsunami that hit the Big Island. While the waves were relatively small significant damages were sustain in a few areas including the shore of Kahuwai Bay housing Kona Village. It sat for many years unrestored until recently when Rosewood pursued the opportunity to revitalize this special spot and bring it back in commission.

While it has not yet had its official Grand Opening, it is now available for wedding reservations!

We have been in touch with the Kona Village Director of Sales about their plans for destination weddings as we already have a client or two interested and want to always be on top of providing our wedding couples with the best and most unique options available.

Here is the scoop on Weddings at the Kona Village Resort:

-The Kona Village Rosewood Resort has 150 guest rooms, the majority of which are standalone bungalow style hale (rooms) and kauhale (suites) ranging from one bedroom to four-bedroom configurations.

-There are also two beautiful four-bedroom presidential suites that have opportunities for creating very private, exclusive event spaces.

-They require a minimum of 50% of the guests to stay on property for a minimum of three nights to host a wedding on property.

-They have 8 event spaces and 5 restaurants and bars.

-They do not have traditional indoor event space – a tent would be required to be constructed for an inclement weather back up.

-They also have an ability to block out an area of the resort to keep the guests close together and also allow for usage of event space that may not otherwise be available – this also offers the clients and guests ultimate privacy.

Here is a link that provides 360 views of many of the spaces at the resort, including several of the accommodations. Kona Village Resort
