The Kona Village Rosewood, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Westin Hapuna, Four Seasons Hualalai and Fairmont Orchid are some of our very favorite Big Island Wedding Resort Venues. Getting married at a resort in Hawaii has a lot of pros and cons. In this post, we will go through some of those and also provide you with some venue specific pricing.
A Wedding at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel -one of our very favorite Big Island Resort Wedding Venues
The Mauna Kea Beach Resort is a classic Hawaiian Hotel with unique architecture. We believe the real highlight of this resort though is the stunning Mauna Kea Beach, one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches on the island. With only a few lava rocks, this beach is ideal for swimming. This picturesque beach is just one of the stunning wedding spots on the expansive resort grounds. Mauna Kea has more green space than just about any other resort on the island. This is definitely more than any resort you’d find in Oahu!
Weddings at the North Point Lawn boast convenient ocean views closer to the resort and its amenities. Meanwhile a wedding at the South Point Lawn offers unparalleled privacy for an outdoor Hawaii Wedding Reception. Additionally, the Luau Grounds is also very private thanks to a circle of trees but is still oceanfront. This can be a great option for those that prefer a concrete floor over grass or sand. It also comes with a built in stage, perfect for a live band or DJ.
Perhaps the best part of a wedding at the Mauna Kea is the Third Tee ceremony location. This is the actual 3rd Tee of the golf course. For a wedding, this space appears as a grassy knoll perched on the top of a small hill overlook black lava and crashing waves. It’s a stunning resort that should definitely be explored as an option for your Hawaii Destination wedding. Check out one of our favorite events we Designed at the Mauna Kea Third Tee and South Point Lawn.
A Wedding at the Kona Village Rosewood Resort -The Ultimate in Luxury Big Island Wedding Venues
We are so excited to now be actively planning, coordinating and designing weddings at the Kona Village Rosewood on Hawaii Island. Just named the World’s Best by National Geographic, this venue is both luxurious and relaxed and is sure to become an iconic destination wedding venue.
The Kona Village Rosewood Black Sand Beach location is one of the few of its kind on Hawaii Island where you can actually get married right in black sand. The privacy, luxury and overall experience you get for your wedding is unparalleled.
A Wedding at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort
Adjacent to the Mauna Kea is its sister resort, The Westin Hapuna, another one of the fantastic Big Island Resort Wedding Venues! This resort is located on yet another stunning Big Island Beach, Hapuna, perhaps the longest and most well known of Hawaii Island’s white sand beaches. One of the major perks of this location is the fully covered large lanai. This is ideal for couples that are nervous about the possibility of rain but may not want a tent. This space still has spectacular ocean views with coverage. We highly recommend this spot!
A Wedding at The Fairmont Orchid – A Unique Big Island Resort Wedding Venue with a Tropical Elegant Vibe
A Wedding at The Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii is another great choice. The Fairmont has a bit more of a classic or almost European look to the aesthetic of the resort itself but with a lovely Hawaii twist. This makes it stand out amongst other Big Island Resort Wedding Venues. It offers two main outdoor Hawaii wedding locations: Coconut Grove or Turtle Point. A wedding at Coconut Grove at the Orchid provides another toes-in-the-sand ceremony and reception option. Similarly, the beach is loaded with gorgeous established palm trees which provide great anchor points for cafe lighting at your reception.
A wedding at Turtle Point at the Orchid is grassy alternative. An expansive oceanfront lawn, this space can hold a large number of guests. However, if you are wanting a more intimate feeling, a tent works great in this location. There is also a white gazebo if you are looking for a more traditional look that can be utilized as a wedding ceremony back drop. If you are not a fan, this can also be a great place to stage a musician or bar.
A Wedding at the Four Seasons Hualalai
A wedding at the Four Seasons Hualalai is perhaps one of the most luxurious locations to choose. Of all the Hawaii Island Resorts, this one seems to offer the most amenities. Hualalai really provides a relaxed intimate feeling despite being a large overall property. You can have your wedding at the Four Seasons Hualalai in the sand as well or in a lux lawn near the resorts stunning pool.
There are also a number of tucked away smaller beach options for more privacy. The main reception space is a protected lush garden space that has the added benefit of being adjacent to a stunning indoor space that can be used for a late night afterparty.
