Hawaii Resort Wedding Locations We Love

With an abundance of gorgeous resorts, the Big Island of Hawaii does not disappoint when it comes to hotel venue options for your wedding!

Hawaii Wedding Resort -Mauna Lani Auberge

The Mauna Lani Auberge, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Westin Hapuna, Four Seasons Hualalai and Fairmont Orchid are some of our very favorite Big Island Wedding Resort Venues. Getting married at a resort in Hawaii has a lot of pros and cons. In this post, we will go through some of those and also provide you with some venue specific pricing.

A Wedding at the Mauna Lani Auberge

The Mauna Lani Auberge Resort offers a true beach setting for your special day as well as a number multiple oceanfront grassy ceremony options if you prefer not to have your toes in the sand. We find the resort’s fun, modern vibe come from the major renovation that recently occurred when Auberge Resorts purchased this long standing Hawaiian Island resort. They gave it a complete (and we think stunning!) remodel making it now one of the most sought after locations.

A resort like the Auberge allows for you to be on one property with all your guests for other events as well maximizing your time spent together -which we believe is a huge bonus. They have also just released the beautiful Papakonane Beach Ceremony Location and Lawn. And, there is still the stunning Kilohana Beach (pictured above) as well as the Surf Shack Lawn and Milo Tree Lawn which we have a great amount of detail.

A Wedding at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel

The Mauna Kea Beach Resort is a classic Hawaiian Hotel with unique architecture. We believe the real highlight of this resort though is the stunning Mauna Kea Beach, one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches on the island. With only a few lava rocks, this beach is ideal for swimming. This picturesque beach is just one of the stunning wedding spots on the expansive resort grounds. Mauna Kea has more green space than just about any other resort on the island – definitely more than any resort you’d find in Oahu!

Weddings at the North Point Lawn boast convenient ocean views closer to the resort and its amenities. Meanwhile a wedding at the South Point Lawn offers unparalleled privacy for an outdoor Hawaii Wedding Reception. Additionally, the Luau Grounds is also very private thanks to a circle of trees but is still oceanfront. This can be a great option for those that prefer a concrete floor over grass or sand. It also comes with a built in stage, perfect for a live band or DJ.

Perhaps the best part of a wedding at the Mauna Kea is the Third Tee ceremony location. This is the actual 3rd Tee of the golf course which for a wedding appears as a grassy knoll perched on the top of a small hill overlook black lava and crashing waves. It’s a stunning resort that should definitely be explored as an option for your Hawaii Destination wedding.

A Wedding at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort

Adjacent to the Mauna Kea is its sister resort, The Westin Hapuna. This resort is located on yet another stunning Big Island Beach, Hapuna, perhaps the longest and most well known of Hawaii Island’s white sand beaches. One of the major perks of this location is the fully covered large lanai. This is ideal for couples that are nervous about the possibility of rain or the outdoor elements and may not want a tent but still want spectacular ocean views.

A Wedding at The Fairmont Orchid

A Wedding at The Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii is another great choice. The Fairmont has a bit more of a classic or almost European look to the aesthetic of the resort itself but with a lovely Hawaii twist. It offers two main outdoor Hawaii wedding locations: Coconut Grove or Turtle Point. A wedding at Coconut Grove at the Orchid provides another toes-in-the-sand ceremony and reception option. Similarly, the beach is loaded with gorgeous established palm trees which provide great anchor points for cafe lighting at your reception.

A wedding at Turtle Point at the Orchid is grassy alternative. An expansive oceanfront lawn, this space can hold a large number of guests but if you are wanting a more intimate feeling, a tent works great in this location. There is also a white gazebo if you are looking for a more traditional look that can be utilized as a wedding ceremony back drop or can be a great place to stage a musician or bar.

A Wedding at the Four Seasons Hualalai

A wedding at the Four Seasons Hualalai is perhaps one of the most luxurious locations to choose. Of all the Hawaii Island Resorts, this one seems to offer the most amenities and really provides a relaxed intimate feeling despite being a large overall property. You can have your wedding at the Four Seasons Hualalai in the sand as well or in a lux lawn near the resorts stunning pool.

There are also a number of tucked away smaller beach options for more privacy. The main reception space is a protected lush garden space that has the added benefit of being adjacent to a stunning indoor space that can be used for a late night afterparty.
